HELLO
Mom to Iris. Wife to Todd. Our little family lives at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We love it here and I love sharing little bits of our life.
Christmas has come and gone
and all that’s left are
the few million photos below
the lovely gifts I received
and the tree in the living room
that I’m too lazy to take down.
Sadly, the holidays mean that
some friends go out of town. GL and I got in the Christmas spirit
before she jetted off to Los Angeles.
We celebrated with
cheap champagne
torturing our dogs
and a Christmas party with friends.
Happily, the holidays also mean
that out of town friends pass through Fville.
This often works out perfectly
for Todd’s oh-so-close-to-Christmas Birthday.
We stuck with tradition
and made reservations at Logan’s Roadhouse.
Years ago it started off as a joke,
but then we realized how good those dang rolls are.
My mom’s gift to Todd
We ended up at a random bar
The Elixir Lounge… in the Comfort Inn.
We heard they turned an old room
into a bar & had to check it out.
One of the best things
about this Christmas
was that I got to spend it with my momma
and our family dog, Henry.
For the first time in four years.
On Christmas Eve
we all headed to Tulsa
(new camera in tow)
for a couple relaxing of days.
One of the best parts about our trip to Tulsa,
was Todd’s sister’s present to their dad.
She’s pregnant and surprised him
with an ultrasound picture…
that told him she is having a BOY!
A very Merry Christmas, indeed. Hope yours was too.
I’ll leave you with my favorite Christmas song.
It pretty much sums up my southern childhood holidays.
In the best way ever, of course.
“Merry Christmas from the Family”
Robert Earle Keene
It’s winter.
My camera and I have gone into hibernation.
I’ve been busy with work, busy with life.
But here are a few things I’ve been up to.
Capturing pink southern skies.
Staying warm.
And cozy.
Despite winter frosties.
And ice cold BIG beers.
We took apart & said goodbye to our JC Penney vintage stove.
A very goodbye it was.
Now I’m finally cooking on a new stove… with gas!
I took a quick work trip
north to Kansas City.
Suitcase view from my hotel room.
The best hotel delivery ever.
People actually swimming
with snow on the ground.
Don’t worry, it’s heated.
There’s even a little tunnel you swim through
so you never have to climb outside.
While in KC, I met up with friends
for burgers and more Boulevard Wheat.
So long Kansas City…
Hello lazy day
with Photoshop & Joan Jett.
Back home, I received my first Christmas gift.
A cowl scarf handmade by Stacy!
In other news,
I’m headed to Arizona in a few weeks
for a little work and a little football game…
Yep, I get to attend the BCS National Championship game
with Auburn and Oregon.
It’s pretty much the Super Bowl of college football.
So yeah, I’m excited.
With the holidays approaching,
I hope to blog more than I have been. So, see ya soon…
Every time the seasons change
or a holiday sneaks up
(like Mr. Thanksgiving
is trying to do tomorrow)
I get a little homesick.
For my Midtown.
For my Memphis.
It looks like I’m not the only one.
My wonderful momma
misses home too and
she wrote about it in this
sweet little song.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
If you’re from Memphis,
I know you will.
I’ve been laying low since Mexico.
But I’ve managed to snap a few
photos here and there.
Honestly, it’s hard to put the camera away
when Fayetteville is this pretty in fall.
There was the last Hogs home game.
A walk across town.
Across town to meet friends at a bar, of course.
I also was asked to take engagement photos for Steven & Amanda.
Not only did I have fun shooting them,
but I’m pretty sure Amanda & I could be
long lost sisters with all
that we have in common…
or at least good friends!
Here are some of my faves…
Oh, I got to meet their sweet kitty too.
And last, but not least
I took a couple quick photos
for an adorable new local lookbook
