Mom to Iris. Wife to Todd. Our little family lives at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We love it here and I love sharing little bits of our life.

Washington D.C.

Me, Mom, & The White House.

My mom took me to D.C. to see the New Kids on the Block for my 28th birthday! We spent a long weekend exploring all of the places that we use to frequent (I lived with her in D.C. in 2001). Cory Branan happened to be playing a show nearby, so we got a little taste of home in the big city. It was a month before election day, so it was an exciting time to be there.

Teary-eyed days…

After 15 long, happy years Blue Kitty has passed away. I adopted her from the pound in the 6th grade, so she has been with me through quite a bit. She brought comfort to me when I was sad & always made me feel happier when things were great. She went with me when I moved to DC (and got to ride in first class while I was stuck back in coach) and of course was along for the move to Fayetteville. Her first experience here was a picnic in Wilson Park. Todd & I had driven our moving van into town, but had to wait a few hours for the keys to our house. We took her cat carrier to the park & had a lovely family lunch. People probably thought we were crazy. She loved it here in Fayetteville though. Her last day was actually quite nice. In fact, just a few hours before she passed she was climbing on the chill zone fence and I asked Todd, “Doesn’t she look young today?” Later that night she laid down in her favorite spot in the driveway and just went to sleep. Now she will rest peacefully forever in our backyard, buried with her brush (her favorite thing ever) and a little snowflake so that part of me will always be with her. Love you Blue.

Hilton Head Island

In September I went on my very first work trip. I was in charge of all the planning, travel, hotel stuff for a two day long business meeting in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Working on the beach rules.

hi hi hello spring

The weather is slowly but surely trying to change over into spring, so it’s time to shed these winter photos that have been building up for way too long. As you can tell from the first photo, I finally received my long awaited diploma! I guess this post sort of shows what I’ve been doing with my time now that there’s no more school for me. There’s no rhyme or reason to the order, but I’ll try to explain along the way. Oh and just click on a photo for a bigger view.

One cute Sadie. Love her.

My family came to visit!

We kept our celebration small, but the night was filled with dancing, champagne, and makin bets.
So much fun.

Sisters Sadie & Olive had their first birthday!
Like the loving parents that we are, we threw them a dog party on campus complete w/ cake from a local dog bakery.

If you can’t tell from my lack of updates, I’ve been super busy lately. I’m halfway through my internship at Walton Arts Center and I absolutely love it. It’s only part time, so I devote the rest of my life to Bittersweet Styles. Plus I get to do hands-on fun stuff. One of my jobs is to write about upcoming events & this month I have an article published in CitiScapes magazine. It’s kind of long, but click on the scans below if ya wanna read all about the art of cirque!

That’s all for now..

Luv,
Sarah

August to December

As promised, I finally have a photo update! It’s jumbo size too.
Feel free to check out my Flickr account (I usually end up posting a lot of pictures there way before I get around to posting in my blog).

I never got around to posting pictures from our honeymoon (except a few polaroid)s, so here they are!

Coincidentally, two months later I passed one of the twin models from the show in Vegas.

We got the very last photos from our wedding – all of the True Love poses. Here are just a couple, but check out Flickr for the rest.

A little over a month after our honeymoon, we flew to Key West for Katie & Caleb’s wedding.

Early morning flight out of Tulsa.

I bought my ticket late & had to fly separately. Somehow got to Key West a couple ours before the rest of the crew & let a Memphis Belle poster keep me company in the dusty little airport bar.

Now that I’m out of school for good, I’ll be able to concentrate on Bittersweet Styles. So be sure to check out all that’s up for grabs in the store!

I’ll also be starting an internship in January in the external affairs department at at The Walton Arts Center (which just so happens to have hosted one of my all time favorite concerts – Wilco). So, everything is coming together! Exciting stuff.

Till next time…
