HELLO
Mom to Iris. Wife to Todd. Our little family lives at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We love it here and I love sharing little bits of our life.

Back (b)logged

Oh gosh.

I’m so behind on blogging,
I don’t even know where to begin.

My days have been busy with work
and my nights have been busy with
watching Big Brother with Todd.

Just a few photos from
the last couple of weeks…

Chelsea Clinton Wedding Coincidences

What does the
Chelsea Clinton & Marc Mezvinsk wedding,
Bill & Hillary Clinton wedding,
and the Todd & Sarah Gill wedding
all have in common?

Amongst other things, really unique timing.

Chelsea Clinton was married yesterday and my wedding anniversary is next week on August 11th – the very same day that former president Bill Clinton will be in Fayetteville, Arkansas stopping by the very same house where Todd and I were married three years ago to the day. Of course Bill and Hillary were married there too, which is what brings the coincidences full circle.

Check out this article on politicsdaily.com about it all:
Bill Clinton’s Marital Tips to Newlyweds

The letter Bill Clinton wrote to us…

Me next to the replica of Hillary Clinton’s wedding dress.
Chelsea’s looked a tad bit different.

Cheers, Bill!

Holiday Weekend

The end of a long weekend is here.
I had the house, and the day, to myself.
As nice as it was,
bordom did sneak up on me.

After a couple hours in the pool,
I felt like getting a little crafty.
So I made my backyard
a little bit of pretty.

I gathered
construction paper, string
and my puppy too.

As dusk settled in
so did my hunger.
Made my mom’s mac & cheese
with fried okra
and dinner cupcakes
(corn bread, mashed potatoes, & bacon sprinkles).
This was a last minute idea
that is already a new favorite.

The lovely day came to a close

So Long So Sad

What is UP, Texas?
You keep swallowing our friends.
Just because you’re all big and warm,
have really good food and music,
doesn’t mean you have to take
everyone away.

Okay, Okay.
If you must.
I guess we can at least come to visit.
And party hard when they’re about to go.
Which is exactly what we did last weekend.

Stephanie and Trip have packed their belongings
and made the move to Houston.
Jill hosted a “See You Later” party
and we made a weekend out of it.
Friends from Kansas City came to town
just to say goodbye.
It was bittersweet.

What do you get
when you give four girls
Champagne, Cupcakes, and new Hair?
A ton of self indulgent pictures
and a whole lot of sass.

But what else is new?

Special thanks to Taylor
for letting us get a little cray-zay
in her corner of the salon.

I may have shattered a champagne glass.

And invited my dog.

But that’s just what happens
when you put that mix together
on a random Thursday afternoon.

just had to keep the afternoon alive.
Oh, and show off our hair.

Onwards to a Kingfish for patio beers
and take out hot dogs from Hammontree’s!

You might need to cut back.
