Just a few photos from my lovely Friday…

Spring weather is here and I’m doing my very best to enjoy it.
The past week has been full of…
After work sunshine sessions.
Happy hour with Brandy and GL from each of our backyards.
Chilling with new friends (even if they are pink).
Running into this cute girl at the bar.
Having way too much fun with ridiculous iPhone apps.
Patio marathons.
Learning the basics of iMovie (while a silly wasp chased Sadie and me around our backyard blanket).

And laughing hysterically at the last 9 seconds of this video that Todd took at the Farmers Market.
I’m a fan of ridiculous and random things.
So when I heard that Duane Chapman, from A&E’s reality show Dog the Bounty Hunter, was going to be in town signing his new book at Borders, I knew I had to me there, camera in tow.
Brandy, GL, and I decided to turn this past Tuesday night into an adventure. Our ultimate goal was to have our photo taken with Dog and his wife, Beth, but upon arrival we were told that there was no posing with Dog allowed.
This was only a minor set back. We were still mighty determined.
While the absurdly long line snaked through every aisle of the bookstore and out the side door, we ran around taking advantage of the prime photo ops (and the amazing people watching opportunities).
Dog was running an hour late, so we grabbed a beer at PF Changs
Dog didn’t arrive till around 10 o’clock, so we went on with the photos!
And then, there he was…
That hair! Oh that hair..
The excellent crowd…
Quite a jacket.
The body guard, Phil.
At one point Dog took a break, so we trotted around back and found him leaning against the wall, smoking a cigarette.
GL and I tiptoed up to him and asked for a picture.
“Not right now, ladies.”
Shot. Down.
Then a security guard comes over and tells us to “Please step away.”
While most people might consider that a failure, our laughter afterwards proved it to be quite a success.
We just got asked by security to step away from the bounty hunter!
We made our way back inside and decided to take our place in line.
Way at the end.
It was pushing 11:00 on a school night when all the sudden his wife Beth came around to say hello to everyone waiting in line.
The A&E cameras were rolling when she got to us.
I asked if I could take my picture with her very quickly.
Again:
Shot. Down.
But this time it was even better than before. She took that opportunity to stop and announce to the crowd that we couldn’t take pictures WITH her, but we could take all we wanted OF her.
So that we did.
Brandy & GL hop on in…
And so did our friend, Warren, who we ran into while there.
I got a high five!
And with that excitement, we left.
We never got our book signed nor did we care.
Plus, now we can return it and get our 20 bucks back.
All that fun and all it cost us was the price of a couple beers.
What better way to celebrate the beginning of spring than with… SNOW!
Wait. What?
Yeah, that’s what I thought when I woke up this morning.
It started falling on Saturday and continued all through late afternoon on Sunday. This is especially crazy considering that on Thursday and Friday I shared happy hour with girl friends on a sunny patio…
Fast forward to Sunday and we have at least a foot of the cold stuff. Even though I am beyond ready for sundresses, margaritas, and swimming pools, we did manage to have a little fun…
Sadie & Everett had a couple friends over to enjoy the snow.
Sadie, Layla, Ellie, & Pinky the flamingo
Layla has a snow mustache.
Ellie says, “I’ll just be right here…”
Sadie!
Ooph..
I built a snow lady…
While my 10 year old husband built a snow fort.
He even built a doggie door.
I think Sadie had the most fun of all.
Till next year, snow!
Or so I hope…
What a wonderful little weekend we just had!
Todd and I joined some old friends in Oxford, Mississippi for a wedding celebration. I say ‘celebration’ because Erin & Sean (the newlyweddies) had a small, family-only wedding ceremony and then threw a giant party this past Saturday for all of their friends. People came from all over the country to party hard in the name of love.
Let the road trip begin…
I swear we are more excited than we look.
Going over the old bridge into Memphis. It was so weird going through my hometown & not stopping.
Arriving in Oxford. We stayed a hotel right off the downtown square.
A sign with “Sarah McG” next to our hotel!
Friday evening Erin had a group of girls over to her house in Water Valley, Mississippi for a pre-party dinner.
I finally met one of her friends, Lauren, who apparently is my long lost twin…
Brandy + Kerri
The bride
Erin had a fun little game planned for her party favors. We did a ‘dirty santa’ style gift swap, with southern themed food from the local Piggly Wiggly. This was especially hilarious since a lot of the girls were from L.A. (aka – not the south).
Peanut butter moon pies.
Chocolate syrup inside of a bear with a bow tie!
Hoppin’ Johns beans.
Crawfish chips. They were really good, actually (and contained no crawfish whatsoever).
Bacon crackers.
Pork & Beans + ham flavored lima beans.
Bis-Kits!
Soul Food Seasoning
Fat Back
Of course while I was at Erin’s home I couldn’t help but drool over her house & it’s vintage decor.
On Saturday we enjoyed a lazy day around Oxford before the party that evening. We explored the Ole Miss campus, had some beers, and had lunch with my old roommate, Necha, and her new baby, Lucia.
The food here is sooo good.
The City Grocery bar
Getting ready
That night the party got underway at The Lyric
Super cute guest book idea
Wedding favors
“Yay!!!” napkins + cookies shaped like the USA & Mississippi
Lots of drinks
Food line. Sliders + french fries + hush puppies. Mmm.
bffs together again!
Congrats again to Erin + Sean!
Can we do it again?
