HELLO
Mom to Iris. Wife to Todd. Our little family lives at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We love it here and I love sharing little bits of our life.
And now one of the cutest places in Oxford
is available on the ole world-wide.
My amazing friend Erin Abbott Kirkpatrick
just launched the website for her
adorable shop, Amelia. And it’s just as cute & creative as she is.
If you ever find yourself in town,
you must stop by, have a cupcake,
& buy something cute!
In the meantime, check it out online.
Just got back from a three night
stay in Memphis.
We stayed up late
and were lazy all day.
Pretty stellar agenda
if you ask me.
Filled our time with
good friends.
watermelon.
40s (excuse me, 32s).
dive bars.
stupid sunglasses.
no sleep (not before 4 am anyway)
sweet tea vodka.
swimming pool.
fried food.
more beer.
the river.
the bo-keys.
bbq.
even more beer.
and dancing at wild bills.
Our cute little pit stop.
After being officially welcomed into Tennessee, GLand I met up with old friends at The Cove
I promise I’m not scaring this guy.
He asked me to use my camera.
Although, I’m pretty sure he thought it was a video camera
(despite the flashes).
Cause we got a pretty good song out of him.
We spent the weekend
in one of my favorite towns, Kansas City.
Just three and a half hours aways,
we couldn’t pass up spending a couple days
celebrating our friend Seth’s birthday.
Once we arrived, we met Seth and Ashlee’s
new kitten Mike McNugget.
Sadie was a bit unsure of Mr. McNugget.
We enjoyed drinks with friends and played with iPads.
We got late night greasy take out
from Town-Topic.
Thanks to Ashlee, everything was already set up
for our group to get into the baseball game.
(and with awesome seats)
There wasn’t much sports watching,
not by the girls at least.
Instead, we walked around the ballpark
convincing vendors to let us into their beer huts & popcorn stands.
We even played some
basketball with strangers.
(and one of us in heels)
Good times.
You can donate five bucks
and request that they make an announcement. We had fun with that.
“Welcome members and guests of Seth’s Dance Studio”
We threw done another fiver to add,
“Correction, Seth’s Pants Studio.”
Random, but funny to us.
Birthday boy goes
cray-zay.
I’m sad to report
that the T-Bones lost.
But this guy sure had fun…
The end of a long weekend is here.
I had the house, and the day, to myself.
As nice as it was,
bordom did sneak up on me.
After a couple hours in the pool,
I felt like getting a little crafty.
So I made my backyard a little bit of pretty.
I gathered
construction paper, string
and my puppy too.
As dusk settled in
so did my hunger.
Made my mom’s mac & cheese
with fried okra
and dinner cupcakes
(corn bread, mashed potatoes, & bacon sprinkles).
This was a last minute idea
that is already a new favorite.
The lovely day came to a close
with a rainbow!
The rest of my holiday weekend in photos:
Fireworks on Dickson.
Vintage shopping.
More swimming.
Fair food.
Sparkers.
Girl time.
Real cupcakes too.
And turning this floor length
vintage dress into a mini.
Hope everyone had the best
4th of July weekend ever.
♥
